Botox Cosmetic® is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum bacteria. It has been used for wrinkle therapy since the early 1990's with no serious side effects documented.
Wrinkles begin to appear as collagen and elastin fibers in the skin break down. This breakdown can also be attributed to excessive squinting, frowning, smiling, and especially smoking. Wrinkles can be smoothed out by filling the skin or the tissue under the skin with fillers. There are many types of tissue fillers. Some are synthetic materials such as beads or polyalkylimide (Bio-Alcamid) injections. These synthetic fillers are permanent. Others are natural substances which provide a temporary fill such as collagen, hyaluronic acid or dermis. Finally, you can also have permanent filling by having your own fat transferred from one part of your body to another in a procedure known as fat grafting or lipofilling.
Traditional hair removal techniques like shaving, plucking and waxing, provide only temporary relief. Electrolysis often requires years of ongoing treatments. Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment inside the hair follicle with very little damage to the delicate pores and structures of the skin. Because hair cycles through "growth" and "dormant" phases, and because during the "dormant" phase the follicle has no pigment, at least 2 or 3 treatments will be needed. The number of sessions will vary for each individual.
In recent years there has been great progress in the use of specific growth factors such as IGF1, FGF and VEGF discovered that delay the hair loss and maintaining over a longer period of life the follicular units.
Loose, wrinkled, or discolored skin can be improved with skin resurfacing. These problems are usually brought on or aggravated by age, sun exposure, heredity, smoking, or acne. Skin resurfacing removes layers of skin, thereby revealing a newer, younger looking more evenly colored layer of skin underneath. Skin resurfacing can be used on the entire face or just on specific areas such as the upper lip or eyelids
